About the team

 

In this position of an Associate Engineer, you will report into the Platform Manager for Integration Engineering. 

 

As an Associate Engineer, you will use your experience to build and maintain the integration platforms following the current best practices in the industry.

You will be an enthusiastic contributor to the team as well as a self-starter and show initiative, reaching out to other Coles members to accomplish the best outcome for both your team and Coles.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

Your key responsibilities will include the following but not be limited to:

 

 

  • Development of Integration IaaS/PaaS/SaaS solutions within the Azure cloud
  • Support of existing services and platforms
  • Code review, testing, deployment and maintenance of the products in the Integration space
  • Continual learning and knowledge of the technologies used in Coles as directed by the leadership team
  • Contributing to the culture of collaboration and inclusiveness in the team
  • Continuously innovating and improving the stack to keep up with the practices and technology
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrates initiative
  • Good analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to mentor junior engineers
  • Collaborate well within the team and with the wider Coles community
  • Accountable for individual and team compliance with company values, policies and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.
  • Embedding compliance requirements into business planning and practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective governance practices across areas of responsibility.
  • Leading a strong governance and compliance culture amongst team.
  • Resolving, managing and reporting compliance incidents.
  • Ensuring team member compliance, training and development is adequately addressed
  • Accountable for individual compliance with company values, policies and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.

 

 

 

About you and your skills

 

  • Experience in Java, Python, Typescript and similar languages
  • Experience in building microservices in the cloud, preferably Azure
  • Experience working in the DevOps ways of working
  • Experience in containerisation of applications and IaC (Terraform, Bicep or equivalent)
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases

 

 

Commercial Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary qualification (in technology engineering discipline such as Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering etc.)
