About the role

 

As an Assistant Product Developer in our Own Brand Fresh Produce team, you will develop and deliver Coles’ brand products and report into our Lead Product Developer.  You will partner closely with the Own Brand and Sales teams to understand customer needs and be accountable for product creativity and development pipelines that align with our Own Brand and category strategies.  

 

You'll also:

  • Assist in the planning, development, and delivery stages of Coles Own Brand products
  • Develop products that meet brand values, quality standards and financial metrics, whilst operating within the New Product Development process
  • Work with the stakeholder teams to communicate, present and deliver products, driving customer and team engagement
  • Project manage and launch end-to-end product and packaging delivery
  • Champion and maintain ongoing quality standards

 

About you and your skills

 

This position will suit a skillset with a background in manufacturing or retail and a commercially creative mindset. You’ll have the ability to work across trend-oriented categories to ensure that Coles Own Branded products are effectively represented delivering quality, innovation, and customer choice.  
 
You’ll also need:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a large retail or FMCG environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related area or hands-on experience (highly advantageous) 
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in product development, manufacturing processes and supplier management
  • Knowledge of safety and quality management systems
  • Exposure to stakeholder management
  • Project management experience from concept to delivery
