About the role
In this newly created role, you’ll join our growing Asset, Maintenance & Engineering team and help shape how we manage assets across Coles. Using operational, asset and financial data, you’ll turn complex information into meaningful insights and practical action. Your work will improve asset reliability, strengthen cost and investment decisions, and support better asset management across our store network. You will also:
- Analyse billing, asset, claims, maintenance and service provider performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Investigate asset reliability, repeat faults and failure patterns to uncover root causes and inform lifecycle, renewal and replacement decisions.
- Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting with Technology and business teams.
- Translate operational and asset performance into financial and commercial insights that improve reliability, efficiency and cost outcomes.
- Establish practical data governance, quality rules and reporting standards across large and evolving datasets.
- Develop business cases, financial models and executive-ready insights to support investment decisions and practical action.
About you and your skills
You’re a commercially minded, experienced analyst who can work confidently with imperfect data, ask the right questions and turn complexity into a clear story for decision-makers. You’ll enjoy working across operational, technical and commercial teams and using data to influence better decisions in a complex, asset-intensive environment. You will have:
- Experience in asset-intensive environments such as retail, logistics, facilities management, utilities or building services.
- Experience with asset, maintenance, engineering or operational data; CMMS/EAM exposure highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills across complex datasets to identify trends, risks, root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Advanced Power BI capability, including dashboard build, development and reporting for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong financial modelling, business case development and commercial analysis skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present clear insights and recommendations to senior leaders.
