About the role


Our Finance team partner with every area of our business and ensure commercial thinking feeds into everything we do. By working across every team, we look at how we’re performing and provide useable insights to support strategic business decisions. With Australian ‘CFO of The Year’ Leah Weckert steering our team, we set up our customers and people for success through good commercial sense.


What you’ll be doing


In this role you will analyse proposed initiatives to ensure they deliver value for money and end-to-end costs/benefits are considered. You will partner with operators and external parties (City FM) to maintain effective cost control on key supermarket expenses including Energy, Maintenance, Sustainability and Other Store Expenses. 


In addition, you will set effective budgets and forecasts and carry out effective monthly review of results, understand and analyse drivers of spend, as well as contract terms to identify opportunities for cost savings.


Good things you’ll need


We’re after highly skilled professionals with considerable experience.


You’ll also need:


  • CPA/CA qualified with PQE
  • TM1 experience preferable but not essential
  • Excellent accounting and financial knowledge with the ability to simplify a complex financial story and communicate effectively to operators
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with exposure to delivering successful outcomes in commercial environments
  • Proven ability to interrogate data and financial systems to extract and manipulate data, and upload budgets and forecasts
  • Efficient, advanced Excel skills to analyse and summarise high volumes of data. Proficient user of pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, macros
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, with proven ability to:
    • Educate financial and non-financial stakeholders on the key drivers of performance; and
    • Interpret, challenge and clarify ad-hoc requests by determining the key questions that need to be answered and appropriate format and priority of response
