About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role:

 

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and maintain world-class integration platforms.  This team’s mission is to build bridges between the different tooling, infrastructure & business services that power Coles.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and secure integration solutions, automate manual processes, and ensure seamless communication between systems.

 

 

About you and your skills:

 

  • At least 5+ experience software development teams /squads at a complex enterprise level; Data engineering experience is preferred. 
  • Strong development skills including: Python, NodeJS, Devops pipeline and process development
  • Experience with on-premises and cloud deployments
  • Good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform
  • Good knowledge of Databricks and ADF
  • Strong experience rolling out complex reusable pattern into cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing, web services, API, integration technologies, networking, protocols and design patterns;
  •  Strong experience with engineering practices, including:
  • Packaging, provisioning, configuration as code, logging and monitoring
  • Source code management
  • Continuous integration
  • Automation: build, test, and deploy
  • Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker, Kubernetes and AKS
