Elevate your career by joining the Safety team at Coles Supermarkets in Canberra, where our unwavering commitment to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce and customers sets the standard. We’re offering a compelling opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a pivotal role in a permanent capacity, impacting multiple stores in NSW and the ACT. 

As a Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you will play a crucial part in cultivating a workplace that is not only safer but also promotes holistic employee wellbeing.

You willl Harness your proven expertise and genuine passion for Health and Wellbeing to strategically guide processes and practices, ensuring the comprehensive wellbeing of our Coles Team. Collaborate with Regional Managers and the Operations team to champion and sustain a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation. 

Other impactful contributions: 

  • Provide specialised support to Coles Divisions through Early Intervention and Return to Work (RTW) plans.
  • Support with investigations into workplace safety incidents, implementing effective controls enterprise-wide. 
  • Ensure thorough adherence to all injury management and return legislation guidelines. 
  • Spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing business-impacted injuries, workers’ compensation claims, and enhancing RTW outcomes. 
  • Analyse state incidents and trends, sharing invaluable insights and contributing to corrective strategies. 
  • Display flexibility as travel is inherent, covering various sites and regional locations in the NSW/ACT, with occasional weekend commitments. 

 

About you and your skills:

 

  • Solid background in Workplace Health and Safety, behavioural psychology, and hands-on experience in an Allied Health Environment. 
  • Proven track record in managing return-to-work cases and crafting effective injury management plans, and a background in food retail, food manufacturing, or food safety.
  • Demonstrated success in a similar advisory role within a multi-site business. 
  • Proficiency in managing workers’ compensation cases within an Insurer, Self-Insurer, Employer, or rehabilitation provider setting. 
  • Exhibit strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and influential communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful results within the fast-paced and dynamic landscape of our business.
