About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Media Planner to join our progressive retail media business. As a Planning Manager, you will play a vital role in developing and executing effective media strategies that align with Coles and our Supplier Partner’s objectives. Your expertise will contribute to driving brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth through insights & effective media planning.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop media strategies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and target audiences. Develop comprehensive media strategies that effectively communicate their brand message, drive engagement, and importantly drive conversion with their target markets.
  • Media planning: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify the most relevant and effective media channels. Utilise consumer insights, media data, and industry trends to plan media across various platforms, including traditional and digital channels.
  • Insights: Analyse proprietary data and provide actionable insights to optimise campaigns.
  • Budget management: Assist in creating media budgets that effectively allocate resources to maximise the impact of media campaigns, including media scheduling and optimising of budgets to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Industry research and trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in media planning. Apply this knowledge to enhance our media strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Client and Coles Business Unit relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with our partners both within Coles and at the Supplier level.

 

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Strategy / Media Planning. Previous experience in a progressive media environment such as publisher or agency is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyse complex data sets, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to optimise media campaigns.
  • Creative thinking: Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and develop innovative media strategies that resonate with target audiences.
  • Excellent communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and media vendors.
  • Tech-savviness: Proficiency in media planning and buying tools, ad platforms, and analytics tools. Familiarity with digital marketing technologies is a plus.
  • Strategic mindset: Strong business acumen and the ability to align media plans with overarching business goals and marketing objectives.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail, especially in managing media budgets and campaign execution.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
