Melbourne based
Permanent & 12-Month Fixed-Term Opportunities

At Coles 360, we're redefining how brands connect with customers through data, insights and retail media. As our retail media business continues to grow, we're looking for two Media Strategy & Planning Managers to join our team, one permanent opportunity and one 12-month fixed-term opportunity.

This is a unique role for someone who loves connecting customer behaviour, shopper insights and marketing science to create strategic media recommendations that drive commercial outcomes.

Working as part of our Strategy & Planning team, you'll partner closely with Partnerships, Sales, Measurement, Product and Ad Operations teams to develop insight-led media strategies for supplier partners. You'll use a combination of customer, category and campaign insights to understand how customers shop, what influences their decisions, and how Coles 360 media solutions can help brands achieve their objectives. This is not a pure insights role. We're looking for someone who can take insights and transform them into strategic recommendations, compelling narratives and innovative media solutions that deliver measurable results.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop strategic, insight-led media plans that connect supplier objectives with customer and shopper behaviour.
  • Use customer, category, audience and campaign insights to identify opportunities and shape media recommendations.
  • Translate complex data into compelling, commercially relevant stories that influence investment decisions.
  • Partner closely with Partnerships and Sales teams to develop bespoke media solutions and recommendations for supplier partners.
  • Collaborate with Measurement teams to ensure recommendations are grounded in effectiveness and aligned to clear success metrics.
  • Work alongside Product and Ad Operations teams to develop innovative campaign solutions and unlock new opportunities for clients.
  • Leverage industry tools, research and market intelligence to identify emerging trends and strengthen planning recommendations.
  • Challenge briefs, uncover customer opportunities and create strategies that drive customer engagement, conversion and business growth.
  • Contribute to the evolution of planning capability, strategic thinking and planning excellence across Coles 360.

About You

You're naturally curious about customers and what drives behaviour. You enjoy connecting data, insights and market intelligence to develop strategic recommendations that solve commercial challenges.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in media strategy, media planning, communications planning, marketing strategy or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of customer behaviour, shopper marketing and audience-led planning.
  • Ability to translate customer and market insights into strategic media recommendations and actionable plans.
  • Experience working with media, audience, research and planning tools such as Nielsen, Commspoint, WARC and emerging AI platforms.
  • Knowledge of marketing science principles and how they can be applied to drive campaign effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to balance customer needs, supplier objectives and business outcomes.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through insight-backed recommendations.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • Retail media, FMCG, agency, publisher or broader marketing experience will be highly regarded.
