At Coles 360, we’re redefining retail media by connecting brands with customers in meaningful, data-driven ways. We’re looking for a commercially astute and strategic Category Media Lead to drive revenue growth, build impactful partnerships, and lead high-performing outcomes across a dedicated category portfolio.

 

 

About the role

 

  • This seasoned sales executive will own the account strategy, execution and revenue growth for advertisers within their specific category portfolio.
  • They will bring a solution-oriented mindset every day to build and grow world class partnerships that deliver significant business growth for their clients’ businesses and Coles. You will understand how to go deep within a marketer’s organisation while also effectively navigating Coles’ internal teams to unlock value.
  • You will be responsible for driving results today while strategically building a sustainable business for the future.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Own and deliver category revenue targets through the development and execution of strategic media and sales plans.
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers, positioning Coles 360 as a trusted partner.
  • Identify and unlock new revenue opportunities across the retail media ecosystem.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance and broader Coles teams to drive integrated commercial outcomes.
  • Deliver data-led insights, reporting and forecasting to inform strategy and optimise performance.
  • Execute projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research and strategic planning.
  • Improve operational efficiency through streamlined processes, standardised reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and influence team members to build capability and drive high performance.
  • Embed strong governance and compliance practices aligned to the Coles Code of Conduct.

 

 

What you’ll bring

 

  • Strong consultative sales capability with experience engaging C-suite stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and innovative mindset, with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth across both new and existing partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of advertising technology, data, and performance measurement trends.
  • Experience selling or buying cross-network marketing solutions such as programmatic, search, display, video, sponsorships and integrated campaigns.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including forecasting and resource allocation to deliver profitable outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate insights into compelling narratives.
  • Demonstrated success operating within a matrix organisation and leading through influence.
  • A track record of leading change and driving operational excellence through new processes, systems and performance measures.

 

 

Experience

 

  • 5+ years’ experience driving revenue growth across emerging opportunities and established partnerships.
  • Relevant experience in brand advertising (e.g. TV, video, sponsorship), media sales, digital or online advertising.
  • Experience in shopper marketing, eCommerce or retail media environments.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing client accounts and building long-term partnerships.
