Supermarkets is one of the largest teams at Coles, but we’re a close-knit group that come from all over the world. We’re passionate about working at the forefront of merchandising and making sure our customers have quality products at the right price.

 

About the role

As a Category Manager, you will have full accountability of the P&L and will develop a category strategy to implement across our stores. This is a role that requires a strong commercial acumen and innovative mindset.

 

What you'll be doing

Utilising your strategic skills, you will identify growth opportunities within your category and partner with suppliers to determine range and pricing structure, ensuring we provide the best options for our customers. 

 

You'll also:

  • Drive results and performance of your categories.
  • Work cross-functionally across Marketing, Operations, Transformation and Strategy.
  • Execute our customer-centric strategy for your categories.
  • Drive innovation within the category, working closely with the broader Coles Merchandise team.
  • Build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, using your negotiation and influencing skills to drive the direction of the category.

 

Good things you'll need

  • Demonstrated Category Management experience within a retail environment.
  • Outstanding influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Creative style with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment,
  • Proven ability to champion and drive change.
  • Strong financial acumen within a highly commercial environment.
