About the team

 

Chef Fresh is the first Coles owned ready made meals facility.
Based at Banksmeadow, our site is highly automated, sophisticated and equipped to global best practice. 
We have a strong focus on team member safety, quality and continuous improvement whilst ensuring that customers' security of supply, quality, availability of product and value for money expectations are met. 


About the role


Take ownership of our quality standards at Chef Fresh through managing the timely completion of quality inspections for all stages of the manufacturing process. 
 

You will also:

  • Drive a Food Safety Culture by conducting floor-based inspections of the facility
  • Record and communicate GMP inspections outcomes
  • Be the leader and mentor in food safety and quality
  • Work collaboratively and train team members in best manufacturing practise 
  • Conduct investigations of any non-conformances 
  • Assure that all the incoming raw materials and packaging meets Coles stringent specifications 
  • Conduct environmental, allergens and ATP swabs, review and trend and analyse data 
  • Perform quality checks and calibration of equipment
  • Review and update factory-based paperwork, procedures and Standard Operating procedures
  • Conduct sensory testing and quality checks against specification
  • Conduct site Internal Audits with continuous improvement mindset
  • Daily adherence to Coles values of: “Care”, “Customer”, “Courage”, “Create”
  • Work in conjunctions with cleaning, engineering, operations, planning, training, NPD departments to assure that site Goals are met. 

 

About you and your skills

 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ideally in ready meals manufacturing. 
  • Understanding of Coles Food Manufacturing Standards Requirements or exposure to GFSI standards BRC, SQF, etc. 
  • Excellent priority, time management and communication skills to complete tasks on time and to a high standard
  • A proactive approach, able to work quickly and identify challenges and risks
  • Experienced in Sage, Mex, iLeader, Microsoft Office or quick learner who is willing to learn how to use a range of tools or systems for quality testing 
  • Team player who acts and completes tasks in a safe manner.
