About the role

We currently have a number of Assistant Category Manager opportunities to support the Non-Food team. You will be responsible for ranging of new and exciting product categories, whilst also managing a variety of Projects.


These are Fixed Term positions until the end of FY 2022. 


What you'll be doing

You will assist the Senior Category Manager's in growing profitable category sales, maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting the customer-centric category strategy.


You'll also:

  • Have end to end accountability, managing forecasting and range reviews.
  • Manage the collection, input and maintenance of all category data, including promotional systems, data systems and new lines.
  • Deliver against the overall category strategy.
  • Execute the category’s pricing, promotion, range selection and layout development.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to effectively partner and execute goals.


Good things you'll need

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience applying this to interpret industry dynamics and competitive retail landscape.
  • Project Management skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of the merchandising function and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills; demonstrated through proactively sourcing customer insights and data to formulate category recommendations.
  • Experience working within cross functional teams to manage and execute projects.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally.
