About the role

A newly created and excited opportunity has arisen for an experienced Expense and Business Improvement Specialist to join the Coles Express team and help drive the overall continuous improvement strategy. 

 

What you'll be doing

As part of this role, you will manage costs associated to store expenses and develop change strategies to simplify and improve store operations.

You’ll also:

  • Own expense management for all store related consumable including associated systems, contracts, suppliers, budget delivery and continuous improvement
  • Support all areas of continuous improvement including the implementation, simplification, and delivery of simplified solutions identifying new technology to simplify business needs
  • Engage and maintain working relationships with third party service providers, external services and general expense vendors providers 
  • Cross-functionally work with peers across the brand to support the business strategy and budgets, incorporating major business initiatives for expense reduction
  • Project management for simplification and process improvements to improve ways of working for TMs and for customers
  • Conduct deep dive analytics in focus areas identifying opportunities and/or risks to the business
  • Collaborate with counterparts within Coles to ensure consistency among processes and procedures.

 

Good things you'll need

You will have an analytical mindset and have demonstrated experience in leading process and system improvements in an operational environment.

 

You’ll also need

  • A record of implementing strategy and delivering results
  • Proven experience in working cross functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience applying this in a competitive retail landscape
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data and financial reporting
  • Outstanding analytical skills and ability to see the bigger picture
  • Project management experience with practical knowledge of PM tools and techniques to support delivery #LI-BU
